The Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage to India’s most sacred and holy sites. Thousands of pilgrims and spiritual seekers travel from all over the world to seek enlightenment. The Char Dham Yatra begins on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya in the month of Chaitya and continues till Bhai Dooj. Every Hindu’s greatest wish is to visit these sacred locations at least once in their lifetime in order to achieve Moksha.
Char Dham literally translates to “travel to the four abodes” and refers to a pilgrimage to four sacred Hindu sanctuaries in Uttarakhand’s high Himalayas. To distinguish it from the larger Char Dham circuit in India, this yatra is sometimes known as ‘Chhota Char Dham.’
Yamunotri Dham, Gangotri Dham, Kedarnath Dham, and Badrinath Dham are all part of the Hindu Char Dham Yatra circuit. The spiritual sources of the rivers Yamuna (Yamunotri), Ganga (Gangotri), Mandakini (Kedarnath), and Alaknanda are these four ancient temples (Badrinath).
The Chardham Yatra is traditionally performed from west to east, beginning in Yamunotri, then moving on to Gangotri, and eventually to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Pilgrims generally visit Yamunotri and Gangotri first, bringing holy water from the Yamuna and Ganga’s springs and performing abhishekams on Kedareshwara.
Haridwar → Rishikesh → Yamunotri → Uttarkashi → Gangotri → Gaurikund → Kedarnath → Joshimath → Badrinath → Rishikesh → Haridwar.
The nearest airport is Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, and Haridwar is well connected by road and train to all major towns. You can also start your yatra from Delhi if it is more convenient for you. It will take you 12 days to complete the yatra. There are several additional noteworthy places to visit if time allows, including Gaumukh – Tapovan, Shri Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Chopta – Tungnath Mahadev, Panch Kedar, and Panch Prayag.
Panch Kailash Yatra, Kailash Mansarovar, Aadi Kailash & Om Parvat, Kinner Kailash, Shrikhand Mahadev Kailash, and Manimahesh Kailash Parikrama are also available. Please contact us if you are willing to help with any of these.

About Yamunotri Dham:
The Yamunotri Dham is the first of the Chardham Yatra's sacred destinations. Dham is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, who is considered a daughter of Surya Dev, the Sun God. The Yamunotri Dham was an isolation of a sage Asti Muni, according to mythological accounts and convictions. Every day for the rest of his life, the Asti Muni bathed in both the Ganges and the Yamuna. Regardless, in his old age, he lacked the energy to reach Gangotri, but his tremendous acts were rewarded, and a torrent of Ganges appeared beside Yamunotri for him. This fantastic anecdote adds to the Dham's unearthly value.
