Parashar Lake Trek is a symbol of natural beauty which is overlooked by snow-draped peaks and is situated on the highest place of Mandi district. This lake is fed by small mountain streams. From the edge of Parashar Lake, you can see a slice of the distant snow-capped peaks. The Parashar Lake trek is best for weekends.

Away from the hustle-bustle of city life, this is the ideal place to go if you seek seclusion, tranquility, and spectacular vistas. The magnificent Dhauladhar hills surround Parashar Lake, which is located at an altitude of roughly 2730 meters. You get a 180-degree view of the Dhauladhar, Kinnaur, and Pir Pinjal mountain ranges from here.

The Parashar lake trek is the perfect weekend trip from Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Ambala to enjoy some peaceful time while also satisfying your inner adrenal junkie. Parashar Lake trek is an easy trek, which is recommended for all groups and first time.

We do organize Parashar lake trek from Panarsa-Jawalapur route. This route is very scenic and picturesque.

HOW TO REACH PARASHAR LAKE

There are various routes to choose from for the trek. The same bus going to Bhuntar will reach Panarsa which is 10 km before Bhuntar. From Panarsa, we arrange the pick-up and cab. Parashar lake trek starts from Jawalapur.

Cab to Jawalapur village (25 km) –> Trek to Parashar lake (7 Kms).

Itinerary

Day 0 - Delhi to Panarsa overnight journey

• 5pm, board overnight semi-sleeper Volvo bus

• 10 hours to reach Panarsa (Mandi-Bhuntar- Manali Road)

Day 1: Arrive Panarsa, Trek to Parashar Lake

After reaching Panarsa, Panarsa is 60 km from Mandi towards Manali. Transfer to our Panarsa Home Stay, which is our base camp. You can freshen up here & Hot Breakfast will be served.

After breakfast, 2 hours' drive to Jawalapur in shared cabs, Pack Lunch/refreshments to be distributed among trekkers and then you will trek up to Parashar lake through dense forest and along with a water stream. You'll find many waterfalls beside the trail.

Overnight stay in camps, Snacks & Hot Dinner will be served at campsite.

Day 2: Departure Day (Trek to Jawalapur Trek, Drive to Panarsa)

Witness the sunrise over Himalayas, click pictures, visit Parashar Rishi temple, return to campsite for breakfast.

Later, downhill trek to Jawalapur. Transfer to Panarsa Stand. Services end here.

Board overnight Volvo to Chandigarh/Delhi at 6pm. You'll reach Delhi on next day around 9am. Book further travel accordingly.

FAQs

What documents I have to carry for Parashar Lake Trek?

You must have to carry both original & copy of valid Govt. Id (Passport/Aadhar card/Driving License), NOC form (by participant), Medical Certificate (signed by a registered MBBS doctor with stamp), 2 passport size photos along with you and submit them to Trek Leader at base during briefing.

I'm the solo female traveler, is it safe?

Yes, you come to our Parashar Lake Trek. Because girls' safety is important to us. Our entire mountain team and guides have a high level of trustworthiness. Many solo woman travelers trek with us so there's no worry about it. We would advise all to take care of your belongings.

What kind of toilet facility are you providing?

Toilet tents would be there at Parashar lake campsite. Basically, we use dry toilets, which is one of the best ways to answer nature's call in the wilderness. Dry toilets mean, we dig a pit and keep mud & shovel so once you are done with your business you can cover it up using mud. It is the most hygienic way in the mountains. You should carry toiletries as we mentioned in the things to carry/essentials.

At our Panarsa home stay we have western & Indian toilets.

Can I charge my phone on the trek?

No, you won’t find any charging point. We advise you to carry a power bank to charge your phone & digital camera.

Which type of shoes should I buy?

Because good trekking shoes are the most vital component of the walk, you must be extremely cautious while purchasing them. Always buy .5 or 1.0 extra size for better results. They must be waterproof. Decathlon sells trekking shoes from Quechua and other well-known brands. Don't come to trek with sports shoes, they are worst on trek.

What type of food is served during trek?

We serve nutritious Indian vegetarian food with eggs. Jain food also available on request please ask while bookings.

How many trekkers will be in one tent?

We use 3+ person tent at Parashar Lake. There will be three people accommodated in one tent. If you want tent for One or Two, please ask while bookings. Customization available at extra cost.

How much weight do I have to carry during Parashar Lake Trek?

Your load will depends on things that are packed by you in the sack. On an average trekker's carry between 4-5 kg of weight with clothing’s, cameras, energy bars, dry fruits, water bottle etc. Off-loading option available on extra cost. Please ask while bookings. We advise you to pack light.

How big are the groups?

We at HRI believe in the concept of Small batches' that improves quality & focus and help trek leader to get connect all members. For private groups there's no limit of group size.

What if an emergency occurred?

In any case of any emergency our mountain staff is skilled and trained for such situations held at mountains. Our team always carry first aid kit, oximeter and portable oxygen with us and in any emergency we'll rescue the trekker till the road head. All of the costs of rescue/evacuation, hospitalization is to borne by the trekker. Overall, it is the trekker's responsibility to obtain a certified medical fitness document prior to the trek, certifying that the trekker is physically fit for the journey.

What happens if the trek is postponed due to natural disasters?

Trek preparations are already done previously. We will be offering you any alternate trek or voucher having similar value for money in case of natural calamities. In case of non-completion of trek due to weather conditions etc there wont be any refund. In partial payment system, Booking amount is Non-Refundable in any case. Please read cancellation policy carefully.

Is Prashar lake snow trek recommended for beginners and children?

Yes Prashar lake snow trek is highly recommended for beginners and children with basic physical fitness. Many families joins us with their children.
