This 5-day ‘Land of High Passes’ expedition is a perfectly balanced introduction to Ladakh, blending essential high-altitude acclimatization with spectacular sightseeing. The journey begins in Leh, dedicating the first day to critical rest, followed by a full day of cultural exploration encompassing war memorials, ancient royal structures, and the remarkable convergence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam.
The adventure truly escalates with the crossing of the formidable Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes, to reach the dramatic Nubra Valley. The trip’s pinnacle is the visit to the stunning, multi-hued Pangong Tso lake, accessed via the picturesque Shyok route.
The itinerary concludes with the return drive, which includes crossing Chang La Pass and visiting the architectural marvel of Thiksey Monastery, ensuring travelers experience the region’s rich military history, spiritual heritage, and unparalleled high-mountain scenery before their final departure from Leh.

Day 01
Arrival & Acclimatization
Arrive at Leh airport and transfer to your designated accommodation.
Dedicate the entire day to mandatory rest for high-altitude acclimatization.

Day 02
Leh Heritage and Cultural Tour
Visit the Hall of Fame (Indian Army Museum) and the intriguing Magnetic Hill.
Pay respects at the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara.
Witness the majestic Sangam (Confluence) where the vibrant Zanskar River merges with the mighty Indus River.
Explore the serene Shanti Stupa for panoramic valley views, followed by the historic Leh Palace.
Spend the evening shopping and soaking up the atmosphere at the lively Leh Main Market.

Day 03
Crossing the High Pass to Nubra Valley
Depart from Leh, ascending to the legendary Khardung La Pass.
Descend into the starkly beautiful Nubra Valley.
Note: This day includes the entire journey to Nubra Valley and is crucial for high-altitude driving.

Pangong Lake Excursion & Monastery Trail
Embark on a scenic drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso (Lake) via the picturesque Shyok River

Return journey to Leh, crossing the challenging Chang La Pass.
Stop at the stunning multi-story Thiksey Monastery for its exquisite architecture.

I went for an ice climbing course to Spiti valley with their team. This is supposed to be one of the toughest courses at high altitude areas. In chilling temperatures of minus 28 degrees, tough climbs at high altitudes as well as scaling the whole waterfall, Vishal Thakur was an absolute epitome of leadership and technical expertise. He believed in me more than I did in myself. The course was an absolute success! I will definitely be coming back for the advanced course! Everything from the logistics to the stay to the food and the teaching was managed impeccably. As a special mention, I want to thank Ms. Kalpana as well who was coordinating with me throughout the journey and made sure she was available even in the wee hours of the morning without a single complaint. The whole team clearly works for a common purpose.
