Overview
Shrikhand Mahadev is the most toughest pilgrimage in India. This abode of lord Shiva is situated
in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh at height of 17,150 ft (5227 meters) above sea level. It
takes almost 7 days to complete and has one of the scintillating views. The trail is very challenging
and flora and fauna is found on the trek which makes it more beautiful. The view from the peak is
breathtaking. July to September is the best time to attempt the Shrikhand Mahadev trek.
The peak resembles Shivaling and it was believed that Lord Shiva meditated
and the Pandavas used to visit this peak. According to administration, Shivaling is around 75 foot
long and 46 foot in breadth. The most important Shrikhand Mahadev is one of the 5 Kailash which
is said to be the abode of Lord Shiva.

Jaon to 30 Mile (Trek – 7/8km)

30 Mile to Kunsha (Trek – 8km).

Kunsha to Parvatibagh (Trek 7km).

Parvatibag to Darshan and back to Bheemdwar (Trek - 12km).
Day 06
Bheemdwar to Thachdu (Trek - 10km).
Day 07
Thachdu to Jaon (Trek - 12km).

Jaon to Chandigarh (Drive 300km, 10hrs)

I went for an ice climbing course to Spiti valley with their team. This is supposed to be one of the toughest courses at high altitude areas. In chilling temperatures of minus 28 degrees, tough climbs at high altitudes as well as scaling the whole waterfall, Vishal Thakur was an absolute epitome of leadership and technical expertise. He believed in me more than I did in myself. The course was an absolute success! I will definitely be coming back for the advanced course! Everything from the logistics to the stay to the food and the teaching was managed impeccably. As a special mention, I want to thank Ms. Kalpana as well who was coordinating with me throughout the journey and made sure she was available even in the wee hours of the morning without a single complaint. The whole team clearly works for a common purpose.
