Bhrigu lake is a high-altitude lake which has a significant implication. Usually, high altitudes lakes are difficult to reach and needs days of hiking and crossing difficult terrains, before the sight of the lake can be cherished. But all these tough complications can be kept at bay with the beautiful Bhrigu Lake trek in Manali.

According to the locals, there is a connection between lake and Bhrigu and it was told that he is known to have perform meditations and rituals in the banks of the lake hundreds of years ago.

Bhrigu lake is near to Rohtang Pass and it has breath taking views of the Seven Sisters – Deo Tibba and Hanuman Tibba and the magnificent Pir Panjal Range. Trekkers will be crossing through lush meadows, verdant grasslands, alpine forests and trees and streams. The trek is exceptionally pleasant and beautiful where one can rejoice the sight of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Arrive Manali, Drive to Gulaba (2 hrs). Trek to Rohla-Kholi (Trek 4 hrs).

Day 2: Rohla-Kholi to Bhrigu Lake, & return to Rohla-Kholi (Trek 7 Hrs).

Day 3: Rohla-Kholi to Gulaba (trek 3 hrs), Gulaba to Manali (Drive 3 hrs).

Cancellation Policy

We totally understand that unforeseen circumstances might need you to change plans, and so HRI cancellation policy makes it easier to do that. Please read them very carefully.
  • Cancellations up to 30 days prior to departure date - 10% deduction (payment gateway & bank charges).
  • Between 30 days to 10 days prior to departure - 50% deduction.
  • Less than 10 days of departure - No Refund.
  • In partial payment system, Booking amount is Non-Refundable in any case.
In case of any unforeseen weather conditions, government restrictions, road blockage or any other unavoidable circumstances beyond our control, certain activities during the expedition or the event itself may be cancelled/skipped, or there could be change in the itinerary. In such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate feasible activity or a voucher will be handed over (in case of cancellation or rescheduling of event) to you. However no refund will be provided for the same. In case the trip is cancelled by us for lack of minimum number of people in the batch, you will get a full refund. Also, if you have opted for a trek insurance, rentals, off-loading & other activities the amount will not be refunded. In partial payment system, booking amount is Non-Refundable in any case. All refunds will be processed back to the same bank account or the credit card account from which the amount has been paid. The amount for refund will be processed within 10 working days. Refund amount would always be calculated basis the net amount paid* for booking of the event & the Base Price of the event (excluding all additional services transport, rent, portage, etc.). Any voucher issued would not include the service tax amount paid while making the booking.

Health & Fitness

The Bhrigu lake Trek is considered as an easy- moderate trek. The trek goes upto over 14,100ft. There is a sudden altitude gain i.e. from Gulaba- Bhrigu Lake (10.000ft to 14,100ft) For that you need to have very strong lungs. Bhrigu Lake requires a good amount of cardiovascular endurance. Bhrigu trek requires a good amount of cardiovascular endurance. And you might be thinking how to make your lungs stronger? Firstly, start by jogging every day. Start jogging at a slow pace and keep increasing day by day. This will make your lungs stronger than before hence cardiovascular endurance exercises are very important.   The Workouts
  • Walking is a great exercise that gives great shape to your legs and your body. It helps in burning calories and cut down excess weight and strengthens the heart.
  • Jogging is effective in increasing human lifespan and makes your lungs stronger. It is an aerobic activity that requires a lot of oxygen. This is a great exercise for fighting obesity and staying healthy.
  • Squats are the best form of functional exercises to improve stability. They also strengthen your legs, thighs, hips and hamstring.
  • 3 Sets each of Pull-ups, Push-Ups, Sprints, Mountain Climber, & 60 Seconds Plank.
  • Another great cardio vascular exercise is pushing your body upstairs after stairs. This is regarded as the best exercise for increasing strength and power.

FAQs

What documents I have to carry?
You must have to carry both original & copy of valid Govt. Id (any of Passport/Aadhar card/Driving License), NOC form (by participant), Medical Certificate (signed by a registered MBBS doctor with stamp), 2 passport size photos along with you and submit them to Trek Leader at base during briefing.
I'm the solo female traveler, is it safe?
Girls safety is important to us. Our entire mountain staff & guides are extremely trust worthy. Many solo woman travelers trek with us so there's no worry about it. We would advise all to take care of your belongings.
What kind of toilet facility you are providing?
Toilet tents would be there at Prashar lake campsite. Basically, we use dry toilets which is one of the best way to answer nature call in the wilderness. Dry toilets means, we dig a pit and keep mud & shovel so once you are done with your business you can cover it up using mud. It is the most hygienic way in the mountains. You should carry toiletries as we mentioned in the things to carry/essentials.
Can I charge my phone on the trek?
No you won’t find any charging point. We advise you to carry a power bank to charge your phone & digital camera.
Which type of shoes should I buy?
Good trekking shoes are the most important part of the trek so you have to be very careful before buying it. Always buy .5 or 1.0 extra size for better results. They must be waterproof. You can buy trekking shoes from Decathlon which includes brands like Quechua. Don't come to trek with sports shoes, they are worst on trek.
What type of food is served during trek?
We serve nutritious Indian vegetarian food with eggs. Jain food also available on request please ask while bookings.
How many trekkers will be in one tent?
We use 3+ persons tents at our campsite. There will be three persons accommodating in one tent. If you want tent for One or Two, please ask while bookings. Customization available on extra cost.
How much weight do I have to carry?
Your load will depends on things that are packed by you in the sack. On an average trekker's carry between 6-8 kg of weight with clothing’s, cameras, energy bars, dry fruits, water bottle etc. Off-loading option available on extra cost. Please ask while bookings. We advise you to pack light.
How big are the groups?
We at HRI believe in the concept of Small batches' that improves quality & focus and help trek leader to get connect all members. For private groups there's no limit of group size.
What if an emergency occurred?
In any case of any emergency our mountain staff is skilled and trained for such situations held at mountains. Our team always carry first aid kit, oximeter and portable oxygen with us and in any emergency we'll rescue the trekker till the road head. All of the costs of rescue/evacuation, hospitalization is to borne by the trekker. All and all it is trekkers responsibility to get a certified medical fitness document before coming for the trek, which certifies that the trekker is fit for the trek. We advise you to come with an insurance.
What if the trek is cancelled due to natural calamities?
Trek preparations are already done previously. We will be offering you any alternate trek or voucher having similar value for money in case of natural calamities. In case of non-completion of trek due to weather conditions etc there wont be any refund. In partial payment system, Booking amount is Non-Refundable in any case. Please read cancellation policy carefully.
Is Bhrigu lake trek recommended for beginners and children?
Yes Bhrigu lake trek is recommended for beginners with basic physical fitness, but not for below 12 years. Many families joins us with their children. Better to come with preparations, check on Health & Fitness section.
