Char Dham literally means journey to ‘the four abodes’ up the mountains to four sacred Hindu shrines located on the high himalayas of Uttarakhand. This Hindu pilgrimage Char Dham Yatra circuit consists of Yamunotri Dham, Gangotri Dham, Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham. These four ancient temples are the spiritual source of River Yamuna (Yamunotri), River Ganga (Gangotri), River Mandakini (Kedarnath), and River Alaknanda (Badrinath).
