Overview

Kalindi Khal Trek is one of the most challenging himalayan trekking expeditions. Kalindi Khal situated at 5,950 metres elevation connects two holy shrines Gangotri and Badrinath. This trekking is meant only for experienced high altitude trekkers.

Swami Probodhanandawas, inspired by John Bicknell Auden, organized the Kalindi Khal expedition and crossed the pass with Guide Dileep Singh on 22 July 1945. Kalindi Khal Trek offers spectacular views of great himalayan peaks like Kamet 7756m, Abi Garmin 7355m, Mana 7272m, Mukut Parvat 7242m, Avalanche Peak and Tibetan plateau on the other side of Mana Pass.

From the route, you will be able to see astonishing Mount Shivling & Mount Satopanth.

During Kalindi Khal Trekking Expedition trekkers need to rope up, which also necessitates the use of ice axes, crampons and other technical equipment. The Trek is mostly over the moraines and glaciers with deep crevasses and gives the ultimate opportunity to camp by some small glacial lakes. Trek starts from the holy place Gangotri and ends at Gastoli, which is close to Mana Pass. From Gastoli, drive to Badrinath. Rishikesh is 300 km, which takes 10-12 hours from Badrinath.
